Updated over 3 weeks ago

Keeping your documents organised in TaxTank is easy with folders and sub-folders. You can create them in both the Spare Tank Documents tab and the Property tab, making it simple to sort and manage records year after year.

Creating folders and sub-folders in the Spare Tank

In the Documents tab:

  1. Click Create Folder to add a new folder, or select an existing folder.

  2. On the folder line, click the folder icon, enter the sub-folder name, and click Save.

  3. Use the arrow on the left to expand and view the folder’s contents.

In the Property tab:

Each property automatically has a master folder. You can add sub-folders to sort documents by year, event, or project (e.g. a building phase). Just select the folder icon and type in the sub-folder name and save.

💡 Bulk upload shortcut: You can upload up to 10 documents at a time into any folder or sub-folder — just click the + button, drag and drop your files, and hit Save.

Pro tips for staying organised

💡Tip 1 – Sorting folders and documents

Use the filters at the top of the table to quickly:

  • Sort folders alphabetically

  • View your most recently added files (at the document level)

  • Sort by file size

💡Tip 2 – Moving folders and documents

Need to reorganise? Simply drag and drop sub-folders and documents into another folder. You can also edit and move them; for example, from the Documents tab into a Property folder, or vice versa.
