How to access and use reports in TaxTank

Learn how to access, filter, and download reports in TaxTank for tax time, BAS, CGT, property, business, and overall financial tracking.

TaxTank reports give you a clear view of your income, expenses, assets, and tax position, whether you’re checking performance, preparing for tax time, or lodging BAS.

Some reports are General (across all Tanks), while others are Tank-specific for property, business, or work-related activity.

How to access reports

  1. Select Reports from the left-hand menu

  2. Choose a report

  3. Apply filters (Tank, property, business, date range)

  4. Select Download PDF or Export to Excel


Using filters

Most reports are fully filterable, so you can go from a full portfolio view to a single property or business in seconds. You can filter by:

  • Tank

  • personal categories

  • property

  • business

  • date range

  • Income and Expense report extra filters;

    • Monthly view β†’ track trends over time

    • Prior year comparison β†’ see how you're tracking year-on-year


General Reports

Use these when you want a complete overview across everything.

Income and Expense Report

Best for: quick performance overview

  • Summary of all income and expenses

  • Monthly and yearly comparisons

  • Filter across Personal, Tanks, properties or businesses

Transactions Report

Best for: detail, validation, and reconciliation

  • Every transaction, fully itemised

  • Shows exactly which category each transaction is allocated to

  • Linked to the relevant Tank, property, or business

  • Export to Excel for deeper analysis

MyTax Report

Best for: self-lodging your tax return

  • Structured to match the ATO’s MyTax online lodgement form

Net Asset Report

Best for: big picture financial position

  • Total assets and liabilities

  • Net wealth (equity position)

CGT Report

Best for: capital gains tracking

  • Gains and losses across assets

  • CGT discounts and concessions

  • Net capital gain

  • Combines with the Property CGT Report

Property Schedule

Depreciation Report

Best for: detailed deduction tracking

  • Capital works (building)

  • Plant & equipment

  • Improvements over time

  • Pooled depreciation calculations

Best for: performance tracking and income verification

  • Detailed breakdown of income vs expenses

  • Shows net profit or loss

  • Option to include prior year comparison

  • View on a cash or accruals basis

BAS Report

  • Includes businesses marked as excluded from personal tax where needed
