How to invite a co-owner to share a property, accept an invite or split

Updated over a week ago

When adding a property in TaxTank you enter your ownership percentage so we can calculate the right amount of tax where applicable. If your ownership is less than 100% you can invite co-owners to share that property (total ownership can not exceed 100%).

When you share properties in TaxTank it means your co-owners tax position will update, as per their ownership percentage, every-time you reconcile transactions (ie. saving them time allocating what you already have...)

You can easily invite your co-owners or accept an invite from the 'Users' page available from the main dropdown menu.

Inviting a Co-Owner

From there, select 'Co-owners', then click the add button and simply enter your co-owners first name, then enter the email address. If your co-owner is already registered with TaxTank you will be able to select them from the email address field once matched. Alternatively we will send them an invitation to join TaxTank if they're not already registered.

FYI. Co-owners must be a registered TaxTank user to accept an invitation to share.

To complete the pop-up select the property you want to share, and your co-owners percentage of ownership. Ownership is important so if your not sure its a great idea to double check with your accountant first.

When you're done simply tick the 'Are your sure' box and then the 'Send Invitation' button.

The invitation will display as pending until its accepted. Whilst pending you can resend or remove the invitation easily from the icons on the left.

Accepting a Co-Owner Invite

If a co-owner has sent you an invitation, it will be waiting in the same place for you to accept or reject.

To accept the invitation press the green tick, or to reject it the red cross, and follow the prompts.

Once accepted, the invitation will move to Property Co-owners and you'll be able to view co-owner by co-owner names or properties.

Removing or Splitting from a Co-Owner

We get it, sometimes things don't go to plan...

If you want to remove a co-owner, of split from a co-owner you currently share with, send us a message and we'll take care of everything.

To send a message select 'TaxTank Support' and then 'chat with us' so one of our team members can get things underway.
