In Holdings Tank you can add any stocks, shares, ETF's, Cryptocurrencies or other assets that you own quickly and easily from any tab. Both shares and cryptos are added the same way.
Step 1: Head to the Trades Tab
Inside Holdings Tank, head to the Trades tab and select the Buy button.
This will open the trade pop-up window.
From the top menu, choose the relevant asset type:

Other
Step 2: Choose How the Asset is Owned
Next, choose how the asset is owned.
By default, TaxTank will select Held in my name, which means the investment is personally owned by you and included in your Tax Summary calculations.
Select Held in other for any investments owned by:

Another entity
Trades marked as Held in other will be excluded from your personal Tax Summary.
Step 3: Select the Asset
For listed shares and cryptocurrencies, start typing the ticker or asset name into the search box.
For shares, we’ll display:
The company name
The stock exchange
This helps ensure the correct investment is selected.
For crypto, we’ll display the coin name.
Step 4: Enter the Trade Details
Enter the following information:
Buy price in Australian dollars (AUD)

FAQ
Q: How do I add jointly owned shares or crypto?
A: If you jointly own shares or crypto with another person, you would normally only add your ownership portion into your own TaxTank account.
For example, if the investment is owned 50/50, you would simply enter:
50% of the units
50% of the purchase value
50% of the fees
under Held in my name.
You only need to create a second entry under Held in other if you also want to track the other owner’s portion within the same account for overall portfolio tracking purposes.
Otherwise, if each owner has their own TaxTank account, they would normally just track their own ownership portion separately.
