TaxTank uses Open Banking through Basiq, an Australian Accredited Data Recipient (ADR), giving access to over 200 Australian banks, credit unions, and financial institutions.
However, not all institutions currently participate in Open Banking. Non-bank lenders and some financial institutions are not required to provide Open Banking access, which means they may not appear in the Add Bank selector.
Before you add a manual bank account
If you've recently connected your bank but can't see it in Bank Feeds, check the following first:
Try refreshing the page and clearing your browser cache.
If you're using the mobile app, swipe across the Bank Feed tiles as the newly connected bank may be off-screen.
Check whether the bank tile already exists in Bank Feeds before attempting to add the bank again.
If the bank tile is already visible
Do not add the bank again.
Do not create a manual bank account.
Instead, click the +Accounts button on the existing bank tile and select any accounts that haven't yet been added to TaxTank.
This is the most common cause of customers thinking a bank is missing when the bank connection already exists.
When should I use a manual bank account?
Only use a manual bank account if:
the bank does not appear in the Add Bank selector, and
there is no existing bank tile already connected in Bank Feeds.
If your institution is not currently available through Open Banking, you can still use TaxTank by creating a manual bank account and importing CSV transaction files as often as you like.
To do this, select Manual from the Add Bank selector and follow the prompts.
