How to allocate your wife/husband/partner's income and expenses if you share a bank account

Learn how to allocate shared expenses in TaxTank when you share with another TaxTank user like your wife/husband/partner or co-owner.

Updated over 7 months ago

Due to Open Banking regulations, there is no ability to share bank accounts or transactions across separate TaxTank accounts.

If you share a bank account with your wife, husband, partner and you both use TaxTank, you will need to allocate any transactions that relate to your partner as a ‘Personal’ transaction so it doesn't affect your tax summary.

When allocating bank transactions you can choose the ‘Personal’ icon to see the available personal categories or you can add your own custom personal category.

Tip: We recommend setting up an automated rule for these type of transactions so they automatically allocate and can be done in bulk.
