How to ensure seamless functionality while using Ad Blockers with TaxTank

Having issues with bank feeds, properties or missing core elements? Your ad blocker or browser might be the culprit. Learn why and how to whitelist TaxTank or switch browsers for full functionality.

TaxTank is 100% ad-free, so you will never see ads while using the platform. However, ad blockers, VPNs, and strict browser privacy settings can sometimes block essential JavaScript and third-party connections that TaxTank relies on to function properly.

When this happens, features like Bank Feeds, CoreLogic integrations, in-app notices, and chat support may not work as expected. If you are experiencing issues, whitelisting TaxTank or adjusting your browser settings usually resolves the problem quickly.

Why ad blockers, VPNs, and browser settings affect TaxTank

TaxTank uses secure connections to banks and trusted third-party services to deliver live data and real-time updates. Some ad blockers and privacy tools mistakenly treat these connections as trackers and block them.

This can result in:

  • Login or authentication issues

  • Bank feeds not importing or updating

  • Property data not loading from CoreLogic

  • Missing buttons, notices, or dashboard elements

  • Chat support not appearing

To keep everything running smoothly, we recommend whitelisting TaxTank or temporarily disabling your ad blocker or VPN or switching browsers while using the app.

How to whitelist TaxTank in your browser

Follow the steps below for your browser or ad-blocking tool, then refresh the TaxTank page.

Google Chrome

(AdBlock, uBlock Origin, AdGuard, Ghostery)

  1. Click the ad blocker extension icon in the top-right corner.

  2. Select Pause on this site or Whitelist this site.

  3. Refresh the TaxTank page.

Mozilla Firefox

Firefox has stricter privacy controls that block essential scripts. Unfortunately, no changes in Firefox will allow our third-party integrations, so for full functionality we recommend using a different browser such as Chrome.

Microsoft Edge

(AdBlock, AdBlock Plus, uBlock Origin, Ghostery)

  1. Click the ad blocker extension icon.

  2. Select Don’t run on this site or Pause on this site.

  3. Refresh the page.

Safari

(AdGuard, AdBlock Plus, 1Blocker, Wipr)

  1. Open Safari Settings and go to Extensions.

  2. Select your ad blocker and open its settings.

  3. Add my.taxtank.com.au to the allowed or trusted sites list.

  4. Reload the page.

Brave Browser

(Built-in Shields, uBlock Origin, AdGuard)

  1. Click the lion icon in the address bar.

  2. Toggle Shields Down for my.taxtank.com.au.

  3. Refresh the page.

Opera

  1. Click the shield icon or ad blocker extension.

  2. Select Don’t run on this site or Allow ads on this site.

  3. Refresh the page.

Vivaldi

  1. Click the shield icon in the address bar.

  2. Set the blocking level to No Blocking for my.taxtank.com.au.

  3. Refresh the page.

Tor Browser

Tor’s security settings often block required scripts.

  1. Click the shield icon in the toolbar.

  2. Lower the security level to allow scripts for my.taxtank.com.au.

  3. Restart the browser.

DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser

  1. Open the DuckDuckGo app.

  2. Tap the fire icon in the toolbar.

  3. Open Site Privacy Protection.

  4. Disable protection for my.taxtank.com.au.

  5. Reload the page.
