How to transfer transactions between accounts

Learn how to quickly handle transactions between your bank accounts.

Updated over a week ago

To match a transfer between your accounts (ie. if you transferred money from one of your bank accounts to another) that are both in TaxTank, you can use the 'Transfer' function.

How to use the transfer function

From the dropdown you will see the 3 options mentioned above. Choose 'Transfer'.

Then, from the bank account drop down choose the related account (ie. where the money came from, or was paid to). Press the 'Transfer' button to confirm.

And that's it, you're done. We will then find and automatically reconcile the related transaction in the selected bank account.

How to handle transfers that couldn't be matched

If the related transaction cant be found, we will let you know. This might happen if the bank feed hasn't come through yet on the related bank account, or perhaps the wrong account was selected.

Double check the related bank account and make sure you can find the related transaction. If you can but still cant transfer, double check the date range is within 5 day limit.

If you still can't match the transfers, we recommend you allocate the transactions to a personal category. You can either create a custom personal category or use the standard categories like Personal Income - Other or Personal Expenses - Other.
