Lost your phone? Changed your backup email? No worries, resetting MFA in TaxTank is quick and easy.

When you should reset MFA

  • You've got a new phone and no longer have access to your Google Authenticator app

  • You want to update your backup email address

  • You’re locked out and need a fresh start

How to Disable MFA

  1. Log in to your TaxTank account using Google Authentication (if available) or your backup email option (if available).

  2. Click your name in the top-right corner and go to "My Account", then the "Security" tab.

  3. Click the "Disable Multi-Factor Authentication" button. This will remove both your Google Authenticator setup and your backup email.

Set It Up Again (Recommended)

Once MFA is disabled, you can re-enable it immediately by following the usual steps:

  • Scan the new QR code with your Google Authenticator app

  • Add a new backup email if needed

📌 Tip: Make sure to remove the old MFA entry from your Google Authenticator app so you don’t confuse it with the new one.

Locked Out Completely?
