How to add multiple profiles or user ID's in bank feeds

Learn how to add multiple bank profiles in TaxTank to manage personal, business, trust, and joint accounts all in one place.

Updated today

Some banks require separate login profiles (IDs) for different account types. This is common when you have:

  • Personal accounts

  • Sole trader accounts

  • Trust or company accounts

  • Joint accounts with another individual

TaxTank supports multiple bank profiles for the same bank, allowing you to connect and manage all relevant accounts in one place. This feature is currently in Beta and is being rolled out progressively to ensure it works reliably across all banks and institutions.

How to add an additional bank profile

To connect another bank profile (for example, a separate personal, sole trader, trust or company ID), follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Banks in your TaxTank dashboard

  2. Locate the existing bank tile

  3. Select the three dots (⋮) on the bank tile

  4. Choose Connect additional profile

  5. Follow the prompts and log in using your bank User ID. If this User ID has multiple profiles, you can log in multiple times and select a different profile each time to connect them separately.

  6. Confirm the connection

Once connected, you’ll see another tile for the same bank, allowing you to select and manage the accounts linked to that profile.

Each bank profile operates independently. This means you can disconnect or reconnect one profile without affecting others, and bank feeds, refreshes, permissions, and annual Open Banking consents are all handled separately per profile. This mirrors how banks and Open Banking providers treat different user IDs, ensuring accurate access and compliance.

⚠️ Important Tip

Additional bank authorisation may still be required

For other entities or joint accounts, even after connecting an additional profile, the bank may still require a separate Data Sharing Consent / authorisation before all accounts are visible. This is usually needed when:

  • an account has multiple owners or signatories

  • the account belongs to a trust, SMSF, company, or other structure

  • the bank hasn’t previously enabled Open Banking access for that user profile

Without this authorisation, some accounts may not be available to select via Open Banking — even after the profile is connected.
