How to manage a bank feed that has stopped updating

Learn how to fix a bank feed that has stopped updating in TaxTank, reconnect inactive accounts, and restore overnight transaction syncing.

Updated today

If your bank tile is showing but no new transactions are coming through, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Check whether transactions are pending

Transactions will only import once they have been fully posted by your bank.

Pending transactions will not appear until they are finalised, so please allow 4 to 5 days, especially over weekends and public holidays.

There can also be a 24-hour delay from when a transaction moves from Pending to Active, as TaxTank pulls transactions daily.

Step 2: Check the account status

  • Click the three dots on the bank tile

  • Select Add Bank Accounts

  • Check the account status:

    • Active – the account is active with Basiq and should be working fine. Check your Allocated Transactions tab to see if they have been auto allocated. If it has not updated after 2 weeks, contact chat support.

    • Inactive – not selected; needs reconnecting on the bank’s side

    • Available to connect or No status – needs to be selected and setup completed in TaxTank as per step 2 in connecting live bank feeds.

Step 3: Reconnect the account if needed

If the account is inactive:

  • Click the three dots on the bank tile and select Disconnect

  • Wait until the bank tile shows Disconnected. You may need to refresh your page to see this.

  • Click the three dots on the bank tile and select Reconnect

  • Follow bank prompts and make sure all accounts are selected.

  • When redirected back to TaxTank click the three dots on the bank tile and select Add Bank Accounts and make sure they are now active. If you see any accounts listed as both inactive and active, please wait overnight for the accounts to merge properly.

  • Transactions should now update and sync overnight.
