How to add new bank accounts, or bank accounts you previously didn't select for live bank feeds

If you need to add a new bank account added from a bank that you've already connected, you’ll need to disconnect and reconnect your bank so you can choose the new account in TaxTank.

Select Bank Feeds and find the bank tile you want to update. If you can’t see it, slide across to view the rest. Click the three dots in the top right of the tile and choose Disconnect.

Once the tile shows as disconnected, click the three dots again and select Reconnect. Follow the prompts to choose your accounts on the bank’s side and approve CDR consent. Make sure you select all accounts you want to share, including any you had selected before.

After reconnecting, tap the three dots again and select Add Bank Accounts.

If your previously connected accounts appear as both “Inactive” and “Available to Select”, do not select those previously connected accounts again. This usually means the feeds have not fully merged yet.

Only select the genuinely new accounts you want to add. The previously connected accounts should refresh, merge, and reactivate automatically overnight.

If your previously connected accounts do not appear as both “Inactive” and “Available to Select”, select any new accounts plus all previously connected accounts you still want to share in TaxTank.

Make sure you select every account you want to keep receiving transactions for, otherwise the feed will stop for any accounts you leave unticked.

Why doesn’t it update automatically?
Your feed is set up through your bank’s CDR open banking agreement. Adding new accounts requires a fresh agreement, which happens when you reconnect and reselect your accounts.

Note: Some banks update immediately, while others can take up to 24 hours for previously connected accounts to merge and reactivate automatically.

Q: My bank accounts are showing as both “Available to Select” and “Inactive” after reconnecting.
A: If your bank accounts appear as both “Available to Select” and “Inactive”, it usually means the accounts haven’t fully merged yet after reconnecting. This process normally completes overnight when the bank feeds refresh and update automatically.

You should still be able to select the new accounts to bring into TaxTank now. We would recommend leaving the previous accounts as they are for now, as they should automatically update and merge overnight for you.
